How to measure
There are 2 simple options here:
- Measure your windows yourself – and we have provided you with guidelines on how to do this here.
- Or, for a small fee of $50 for metro areas we will measure every window in the house for you, this will come off the cost of your curtains when you go ahead with your order. We can also help you if you are in a regional area simply email us on hello@thesofthub.com.au to get a cost for this. After we have your measurements we can then provide you with a quote based on your product and fabric selection.
Its important to note here that any made to order products that are made correctly to the measurements you provide cannot be returned if you find they do not fit your window properly. You will need to pay for any adjustments. On the other hand, if we were to measure for you, and there happened to be a mistake in the measurements, we would of course fix this at no cost to you.
To measure yourself, follow these simple instructions:
For Roman Blinds:
- Start by measuring the Width from the outer edge of the architrave to the opposite edge.
- Measure the Drop from the top of the Architrave to the where you want the blind to finish. For shorter drop windows we recommend that you take the blind 50-100mm below the sill.
- We recommend that you add 40-100mm each side of the architrave. This will help reduce the gap at the side of the blind so less light can get in
For curtains:
To work out the width of your curtains simply work out the track size you require. You can take the track past the architraves as much as you like for better light control when curtains are open.
We think curtains look best hung to the floor, of course if you like you can hang them to the sill or below the sill for shorter windows.
- Measure to the floor
- Measure 100-150mm below the sill
- Measure to the floor
When using a curtain rod, measure from the underside of the decorative ring where the curtain hooks into. Then measure, to floor, sill or below sill.
